UAE Immigration Reforms to Attract Global Talent

In its quest to attract more skilled professionals — and, therefore, create the circumstances for a better quality of life — the United Arab Emirates is reforming its immigration regime. These overhauling reforms will make the UAE more appealing to expatriates and tourists looking to visit the country.

Key Changes Include:

Extended Tourist Visas: The UAE is now mulling over extending the tourist visa period to 60 days to give visitors sufficient time to get a feel of the country and its opportunities.

Easier way out for a Golden Visa: The 10-year Golden Visa on long-term residency to investors, entrepreneurs, or specialized talents has become more accessible. This would be done to ensure that the best talent is retained in the country and that innovation can flourish within it.

Five-Year Multi-Entry Tourist Visa: The new five-year flexible multi-entry tourist visa ensures a better facility for people who frequent the country for business and visits.

Sponsorship of Family: Now parents can sponsor their children up to 25 years of age, an increase from the earlier stipulated age. This will have families more settled in the United Arab
Emirates.

Job Exploration Visa: The professionals can now be awarded a job exploration visa and do not require an Emirati sponsor. This visa would act as an instrument for drawing highly talented individuals who seek to explore more opportunities in jobs that exist within the UAE.

The reforms are in line with the UAE’s vision for the environment to become more inclusive and dynamic for living and visiting. Simply by putting more flexibility in the visa process with streamlined procedures, UAE intends to be further recognized as a global hub for talent and innovation.
